Rachel Kleinfeld
Rachel Kleinfeld is the Executive Director of the Truman Security Forum in Washington, D.C.. She has worked as a consultant to the Center for Security and International Studies on biosecurity and bioterrorism response issues, and has served as a Senior Consultant on homeland security at Booz Allen Hamilton. Rachel maintains a strong interest in efforts to strengthen weak states through the rule of law, human rights, security, and development. She has consulted for numerous private, public, nonprofit, and international organizations regarding building the rule of law in weak states through improved judiciaries, police, and human rights structures. She has also worked in India and Israel in human rights, and economic development. A Rhodes Scholar and a Truman Scholar, Rachel received her B.A. from Yale University and her M. Phil in International Relations from St. Antony's College, Oxford. Rachel is currently on the Board of Trustees for the Blue Fund, a progressive mutual fund.
Matthew Spence
Matthew Spence is the co-founder of the Truman Security Forum and is an attorney at Munger, Tolles, and Olsen in San Francisco. Matt has been a Lecturer in International Relations at Oxford University, a Visiting Fellow at the Stanford Center on Democratization, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL), and an elections monitor in Kosovo. His commentary has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Baltimore Sun, the Yale Law Journal, the Yale Journal of International Law, and in various scholarly panels and publications; he is currently finishing a book on U.S. democracy promotion in the former Soviet Union. A Marshall Scholar and a Truman Scholar, Matt received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Stanford University; his Ph.D. from Oxford University; and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
