Sidney Olinyk
Sidney directs and manages our flagship Truman Security Fellowship and
Members Programs, as well as the Truman Project Board of Principals.
Prior to joining the Truman Project, Sidney was a legislative associate
at the Moffett Group, a strategic government relations firm, where she
contributed to comprehensive political strategies for several foreign
government accounts. At the Moffett Group, Sidney worked closely with
Congressional and Embassy staffs, and conducted extensive research and
analysis on foreign policy issues. Sidney also gained experience as a
paralegal in the Antitrust Division at the U.S. Department of Justice,
where she conducted legal research and analysis for several complex
merger investigations. Prior to the Justice Department, Sidney served
as a member of the Public Affairs team at the British Embassy in
Washington, DC.
Sidney holds a dual B.A. in International Studies and Communication
Studies, with a focus on media and government, from the American
University in Washington, D.C. She holds a M.Sc. in Global Politics
from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where her
course concentration focused on international development, and her
dissertation examined the deficiencies of the state-centric global
refugee regime, using the Iraqi refugees post-2003 as her case study.
