The progressive movement is energizing the country - working to make the American dream a reality for more Americans, fighting for social justice and civil rights, and defending our environment. We must bring that same passion, energy, and smart thinking to national security.
To offer Americans a serious progressive alternative to govern America, progressives must have just as strong grounding and training in national security as we do in civil rights, the environment, and social justice. We must understand our many national security tools, from diplomacy to military power, and we must learn how to talk about national security and our progressive values with the American people so that they understand how we plan to keep America safe.
For the past decades, the conservative movement has successfully trained and built a powerful infrastructure in national security. It is time for progressives to do the same.
