Use of Force Conference, Spring 2007, New York City
"America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination, and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand."
–Harry Truman
The Truman Security Forum is a non-profit, non-partisan, national security institute dedicated to creating a strong, principled alternative to conservative national security policies.
We train and educate future leaders on national security issues and the progressive national security tradition, to provide the skills, knowledge, and tools necessary to take a seat at the table when national security decisions are made.
- Trains young progressives from around the country in today's national security challenges and the tools needed for America's defense and national security.
- Builds upon the intellectual foundations of the progressive national security tradition, deepening this worldview, and demonstrating how it can be applied to national security challenges today.
- Builds a dialogue with the military to promote greater progressive-military understanding between future foreign policy leaders and service members.
By putting national security front and center on the progressive agenda, we are creating the long term infrastructure needed to make the progressive movement a national force.
